Videos of George Knott’s Square Trio at Southside Stomp in Norfolk, VA

During the Southside Stomp dance on May 21, 2011, Victor Celania took some video of George Knott’s Square Trio playing with me on vocals. Here are two videos Victor posted, one of us performing “What a Little Moonlight Can Do” and the other is “Darktown Strutter’s Ball.” George on guitar and banjo, Mark Wells on piano, and Lucian Cobb on trombone. Thanks, Victor!

Atomic Rhythm All-Stars on the U.S.S. North Carolina

This weekend, the Atomic Rhythm All-Stars will be playing at a wedding reception on the U.S.S. North Carolina, a WWII era battleship docked in Wilmington, North Carolina. While we hope to someday play some public gigs on the U.S.S. N.C., we are excited to have this initial opportunity to play on this historic ship!

The Busiest Person I Know

I primarily set up this site as a placeholder for http://www.laurawindley.com because a good friend of mine, Shel Brannan, had always encouraged me to purchase my name as a URL. After purchasing the URL I thought it would be a shame to let this space sit here empty, but I was a bit mortified that I would have to write about myself. I can talk for days about the things I love – dancing, vintage clothing, swing era music – but having a website all to myself…well, it’s slightly uncomfortable.

I decided this site would keep track of all my activities and be an archive of what I am doing with my life – or, at the very least, a maintain a list of activities I enjoy.

Thanks for stopping by!
